BEST THINGS TO DO IN LONDON IN APRIL

April in London: Where We’re Eating, Drinking and Doing This Month

As soon as April hits and London gets a hint of sunlight, my social calendar practically writes itself. I’m all about those days that begin with a long brunch and end with a dinner party, a performance or something unexpectedly brilliant happening in a hidden corner of the city.

This month, central London is buzzing with everything from chic Easter dining to riverside traditions and theatrical hits. Whether you’re here for the live music, the bottomless oysters or simply want to be where the atmosphere is, here’s what I’m personally booking, loving, and looking forward to.

Bocconcino Mayfair Spring Party – 18 April

Good Friday rarely feels this glamorous. Bocconcino Mayfair is throwing a dinner party to celebrate the start of the long weekend, and if their past events are anything to go by, this will be one of the highlights of the month. Expect impeccable Italian dining, cocktails that keep flowing and a guest list that knows how to party.

Bocconcino Soho Easter Buffet Brunch – 20 & 21 April

If you’re after a serious Easter indulgence, the Soho outpost is hosting two decadent buffets over the bank holiday. The seafood spread includes limitless lobster and oysters, alongside an Italian-style roast lamb served just for Easter. Add in bottomless Prosecco, and it’s exactly the kind of long lunch that turns into early evening Aperols.

Osteria Del Mare Live Music Nights

Twice this April, Osteria is hosting live dinner parties with upbeat acoustic hits by the band Brigade. The sound is playful and polished, the mood is lively, and the crowd feels like they’ve just stepped out of a Milanese magazine shoot. You come for the music, stay for the wine, and linger over dessert.

Where: Osteria Del Mare, 366 Strand, London WC2R 0JF

The Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race – 13 April

There’s something undeniably exciting about this annual clash of the universities. I like to stake out a riverside spot in Hammersmith or Putney with a flat white in hand and soak up the energy. It’s tradition with a pulse - and the people-watching is spectacular.

St George’s Day Celebrations – 21 April

Trafalgar Square comes to life with music, performance and plenty of food stalls celebrating the patron saint of England. It’s a quick stop if you're in the area, but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and live stage moments that feel uniquely London.

London Marathon – 27 April

I’m not the marathon type, but I love the atmosphere it brings to the city. Grab a spot near Tower Bridge or Embankment and cheer with something cold in hand. It’s also an excellent excuse to make a whole day of it with lunch and people-watching in central London.

April is when London truly comes back to life. If you're the kind of person who thrives on city energy, fresh plans and a table booked somewhere fabulous, this is your season. I’ll be out there, hopping between oysters in Soho and curtain calls on the South Bank, making the most of every daylight hour.
See you out.
