Bocconcino Soho has dedicated private dining spaces used regularly for group dinners, birthdays, hen parties, corporate events and standing receptions. The restaurant is at 59 Great Marlborough Street, a few minutes’ walk from Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road, and at the top of Carnaby Street. Below the restaurant, Sotto Bar runs as a separate basement cocktail bar that can be hired alongside the private dining rooms for an extended evening or a drinks reception before or after dinner. The combination of the restaurant and the bar makes the venue one of the more flexible private dining addresses in central Soho.

The food is the same regional Italian menu the kitchen runs the rest of the week: handcrafted pasta, Roman-style pizza baked in the open-fire oven, sumptuous antipasti, and dishes drawn from Tuscany, Rome, Sicily, Napoli and Florence. Tailored menus are available for private bookings and the events team will work with hosts on bespoke requirements, including dietary needs, wine pairings, audio-visual setups, table arrangements and any extras such as cakes, flowers or printed menus.

The Private Dining Spaces

The Soho restaurant has two configurations for private bookings. The first is a private dining room within the restaurant itself, which works for smaller seated dinners and intimate group celebrations. The second is the larger private hire of a section of the main dining room, which works for bigger group bookings, hen parties and corporate dinners where a partial rather than fully separate space is sufficient. For complete privacy across the venue, the full restaurant and Sotto Bar can be hired together for exclusive use.

Capacity ranges from small groups of eight up to larger seated events of around forty, with higher numbers possible on standing receptions. The events team will confirm the right configuration based on the size of the group, the format of the booking, and the date requested. Audio-visual setups, including microphones and screens for presentations, can be arranged in advance.

Sotto Bar: Cocktails Before or After Dinner

Sotto Bar sits in the basement at the same Great Marlborough Street address. It is a separate venue with its own brand identity, its own drinks list, and its own atmosphere: low-lit, cocktail-led, and pitched as a destination bar in its own right. For private dining bookings in the restaurant upstairs, Sotto can be combined with the dinner reservation to give the group a separate space for arrival drinks, after-dinner cocktails, or a late evening extension. Sotto can also be hired privately for smaller events, with capacity for a launch, a milestone birthday or an after-dinner extension.

Birthdays and Group Celebrations

Soho is the busier of the two Bocconcino venues for birthday and hen party bookings. The energy of the room, the resident DJ programme, the bottomless brunches, and the option to extend into Sotto Bar downstairs all make the venue work for the higher-energy end of the celebration calendar. Most birthday private dining bookings are dinners with a drinks extension afterwards, in a single coordinated booking.

Hen Parties

Hen parties are a regular feature of the Soho calendar, particularly the Saturday and Sunday brunch services. For larger hen parties (twelve or more), the private dining setup with a tailored drinks package is usually the right answer. The events team handles the bottomless package, the seating, and any add-ons (cocktail upgrades, flowers, themed menus) as a single booking.

Corporate Dinners and Meetings

For corporate bookings, the private dining room within the restaurant works well for board dinners, client entertainment, team Christmas parties, and similar formats. Corporate meeting rooms are also available for daytime use, with lunch and dinner service in the room. The room can be set up with audio-visual equipment for a presentation before dinner or a short speaking segment during the evening. Lead time is typically a week to two weeks, with longer lead time recommended for the busier December and June periods.

Standing Receptions and Parties

For standing receptions, the venue works in two configurations. The restaurant on its own can host a reception of around fifty to sixty guests, with the bar at the front of the room and standing canapé service from the kitchen. The combined hire of the restaurant and Sotto Bar lifts the capacity higher and gives the booking two distinct spaces (the restaurant upstairs and the basement bar) for guests to move between.

Bespoke Menus and Drinks Packages

Tailored menus are available for any private booking. The events team works with hosts on the menu in advance, drawing from the regional Italian à la carte and adapting portion sizes, courses and pricing to suit the format. Standard private dining options run a three or four-course set menu with wine pairing, but more bespoke arrangements (tasting menus, sharing-style service, pizza-and-pasta stations for larger groups) are all possible. Wine pairings are confirmed by the sommelier team in advance, drawing from the 300-plus bottle Italian list.

Drinks packages run in three standard tiers (house, premium and super-premium) and can be tailored further on request. Bottomless prosecco, a Champagne package, a curated Italian wine flight, or a cocktail welcome drinks package are all available. A DJ or live music can be arranged for the booking on request, subject to minimum spend. Sotto Bar can build a bespoke cocktail menu for private events, themed around the booking if the host wants.

Standard lead time is one to two weeks for smaller bookings, with three to six months recommended for the busiest periods (December for corporate Christmas, the spring and summer hen party season). Minimum spend levels apply at peak times and on full restaurant hire.
